1. MACHINE DESCRIPTION: The "WR-Series" CNC Router is a 3 axis high speed moving gantry style machine with a 4' x 8' table. A moving gantry machine requires less space than other styles, making best use of your shop floor.
The X-axis moves the gantry front-to-back; the Y-axis moves the spindle left-to-right; the Z-axis moves the spindle up-and-down.
2. MACHINE CONSTRUCTION: The "WR-Series" is the heaviest machine in its class. It is designed to be fast, accurate and dependable due the selection of world class components used in its manufacture.
The machine base is a tubular steel weldment. The steel base is considered superior due to its stiffness, weight and inherent vibration dampening properties. A rigid frame allows for a higher quality of cut at a faster feed rate.
The moving gantry is made from specially engineered aluminum cross-rail and cast-aluminum vertical supports. The internally ribbed aluminum extrusion maintains a high degree of stiffness while keeping moving weight to a minimum. The lighter the weight, the steeper the acceleration curve, thus the more productive the machine.
All axes have hardened and ground profiled rails to support the moving components. These rails have a series of recirculation ball bearings, for fast precise movement, and grease lubrication insures long life. This style of bearing enables vibration-free cutting to reduce sanding and extend tool life.
The table is a series of aluminum extrusions with a T-slot pattern. It is ideal for clamping workpieces into the work-envelope. For the same reason, a set of T-bolts is specifically included.
An owner of the machine might have an application more suitable for vacuum holddowns and can fabricate in-house a table to hold parts via vacuum. As an option, we can provide a vacuum table instead of a T-slot one.
A high precision rack & pinion drive system provides X- & Y-axis motion. The X-axis incorporates a drive system on both sides of the gantry for superior control and speed. The spindle moves on a top mounted rack that insures smooth cutting. The Z-axis has a ball-screw drive mechanism that keeps the spindle clearance to an ideal minimum.
Drive motors are the constant torque micro-stepper type. These motors have a reputation for high reliability and ease of maintenance. The (30,000) steps per revolution make high-tolerance machine work a breeze.
The spindle is a 3.0 HP direct drive motor, 6,000 24,000 RPM cartridge type spindle. It is so precisely balanced that is nearly silent in operation.
Additionally the spindle is liquid cooled. Liquid cooling is superior to air cooling because it is more efficient (lower power consumption) at keeping motor windings cool and more importantly, keeping the bearings cooler, which translates into extremely long life.
3. CNC CONTROL: The "WR-Series" machine includes a DELL PC with flat screen monitor, keyboard and mouse. The Windows platform of control shortens operator learning curves and provides compatibility with most CAD/CAM software products.
4. EASY TO USE SOFTWARE.
The newly developed operator interface represents a new standard in usability, 3D tool path graphics, and easy-to-understand screens allow a new operator run the machine with confidence and complete safety.
The main screen gives you an overall view of all machine functions at a glance. A one button MPG (manual pulse generator), program editors, simulation mode and a one button home add unprecedented ease of use.
The latest graphic interface makes support of high-end features like cutter radius compensation, and fixture offset simple to understand and implement.
The operating system is configured with a powerful but simple to use CAM program that turns drawing file into machine code in a few as 3 clicks.

6. TRAINING AND INSTALLATION: "Ease of use" is a trademark of the "WR Series" machine operating software. It is pre-loaded in the machine control and includes a series of training videos. This training regiment is enhanced by an optional (1 - 2) days of training at our Zeeland, MI showroom.
Installation is easily accomplished by bolting on the legs and electrical panel, and plugging in the (10) connectors.
